About the Author MAURICE RASMUSSEN holds the Laverne Comp Chair in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Oklahoma, Norman, where he is a David Ross Boyd Distinguished Professor. An Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Professor Rasmussen has served as the Associate Editor of the AIAA Journal. He received his PhD from Stanford University in 1964.
